How to Get Involved

Make a difference. Spread light. Become the village.

Donate

Your donation helps us recruit and train dedicated foster and respite caregivers, provide essential resources for families, and offer ongoing support, education, and outreach throughout the community. Every dollar you give directly impacts a child’s life — from the basics they need to moments of healing and joy they deserve. Whether you’re making a one-time gift or becoming a monthly supporter, your generosity helps us build a village where every child can thrive.

Become a Respite Caretaker

Respite care offers short-term support to families by providing children with a safe, nurturing place to stay when their primary caregiver needs a break or faces unexpected challenges. It's a wonderful way to make a meaningful impact — especially for those curious about fostering but not yet ready for a long-term commitment. Stays typically range from a weekend to 14 days, and caregivers receive a stipend based on the number of nights a child is in their care.

Become a Foster Parent

Foster care is a commitment to give a child the love, safety, and support every child deserves. It’s a deeply rewarding journey for host families, supported by financial assistance, training, and ongoing guidance. Our team thoughtfully matches you with children or teens who are a great fit and walks with you every step of the way to ensure a meaningful experience for everyone involved.

Volunteer

Volunteering with The Good Shepherd – Mark and Jacob Foundation is a powerful way to make a difference in a child’s life. Whether you’re helping at events, supporting foster families, or sharing your unique skills, your time and heart can bring light and hope to children in need. Inspired by the love and legacy of Mark and Jacob, we believe that it takes a village to raise a child—and you can be part of that village. Join us and help create a community where every child feels seen, supported, and truly loved.
